If Chins Could Kill: Confessions of a B-Movie Actor

Bruce Campbell Confesses His Life

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Famous B-movie actor, Bruce Campbell, has recently released the paperback of his autobiography, If Chins Could Kill: Confessions of a B-Movie Actor. Bruce Campbell is best known for his role as "Ash" in The Evil Dead trilogy (although there has been talk of a fourth movie), which is directed by his long-time good friend, Sam Raimi (Spider-Man, The Gift, For Love of the Game, Darkman, A Simple Plan). For those not a fan of the horror genre, you may have seen Bruce in his TV series, "The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr." and/or "Xena: Warrior Princess" where he portrays "Autolycus: King of Thieves". In 2001, Campbell took along with him his laptop to the set and on the plane to write his much anticipated autobiography. Starting from his childhood in the suburbs of Detroit, he tells a few stories about his older brothers, Don and Mike, and the adventures they had growing up. About midway, he gets to high school where he met his now famous film friends (Sam Raimi, Scott Spiegel, Josh Becker; Rob Tapert didn’t show up until Sam was in college). In high school, Sam, Scott, and Bruce shared an interest in The Three Stooges and in making films; obviously from there they began to produce their own films (often very low budget cheesy comedies). The big break came in 1978 when Sam was able to get equipment from the University he attended and The Evil Dead was shot (over a course of five years). All in all, Bruce Campbell’s autobiography is defiantly worth being picked up by anyone (especially those interested in making a film but don’t have much money). And if you ever have the chance to meet Bruce Campbell or any of the cast members of The Evil Dead at a convention, you should take the opportunity; they are all friendly and joking people.
