28: BAD BRAINS updates site, unveils new poster
Lovecraft
aficionado Ivan (UNKNOWN BEYOND) Zuccon has completed postproduction
on his latest effort, BAD BRAINS (see here
for previous news entry), and sent along the new poster. The
film’s first screening will be held November 7 in Rome,
Italy. Meanwhile, you can check out BAD BRAINS’ new teaser
here.

24: Are you ready for Bad Brains?
Ivan Zuccon has completed post-production on Bad Brains,
and is now readying the film for it's world premier! The screening
will take place in Rome, Italy on November 7th. More news to come...

October 1: Bad Brains; post-production and new scenes!
Ivan
Zuccon has informed me that he is very busy with post-production
on Bad Brains, and is nearing the end! He also recently
wrote new scenes for the film that were shot between September
23rd and the 28th. The scenes include a new character named
Luce who is the daughter of Davide and Alice. You can see a
picture of actress Lorenza Damiani (Luce) on the Creator
page...

Sometimes I stumble across what appears to be a messed up little
gem and just get the sense I'm gonna like it. Such was the case
when I watched the bloody, subtitled, seemingly existensial musings
of the trailer for BAD BRAINS. How great a title is that?
To
give you some insight into the madness, here's the description:
Davide
and his fiancee Alice aren’t two simple serial killers.
They are looking for something inside the bodies of their victims,
which forms the mystery of the story. And they will continue
to kill people until they find what they are looking for. Their
crazy love story and strange research go on, but something changes
when they meet a weird man named Mirco. This guy seems to know
many things about Alice and Davide’s past, and it seems
that he isn’t scared of them.
You
should check out both the Trailer,
and the Official
Site, but keep in mind that both have extreme content (aka
not at work if you live in a cubicle).

anterior the shunned house, uma antologia de contos de
h.p. lovecraft, me pareceu bastante promissor. realizado
em vídeo digital o filme ultrapassa em grande parte as
limitações do formato, e do baixo orçamento,
muito ajudado por uma direcção sólida e uma
direcção de fotografia bem acima da média
neste tipo de produções. o resultado é um
pequeno filme eficazmente arrepiante e apenas emperrado pela decisão
de colocar o elenco italiano a representar em inglês, o
que acaba por dar um ar forçado aos diálogos.
bad
brains, o seu novo filme, concluiu a produção
no final de abril, e é apresentado como "a mind
altering tale of death and moths." traças…
o trailer
tem um ar interessante, sangue com fartura, e só é
pena aquele ar meio barato que o dv imprime aos filmes. o site
oficial é aqui
e diz que estamos perante a nova geração do terror
italiano. já estava na altura.

The cast will be arriving on the set today, and Ivan is currently
working with the crew on last minute details...

11: Ivan Zuccon has BAD BRAINS
Italian
horror filmmaker Ivan (THE SHUNNED HOUSE) Zuccon begins shooting
his next bloodsoaked opus, BAD BRAINS, in Italy April 4 on a
four-week schedule. Zuccon describes the film as "a mind-altering
tale of death and moths" and with the additional ballyhoo
tagline, "the next generation in Italian horror is at hand."
Pressed
for more details, Zuccon outlines the plot for Fango: "Davide
and his fiancee Alice aren’t two simple serial killers.
They are looking for something inside the bodies of their victims,
which forms the mystery of the story. And they will continue
to kill people until they find what they are looking for. Their
crazy love story and strange research go on, but something changes
when they meet a weird man named Mirco. This guy seems to know
many things about Alice and Davide’s past, and it seems
that he isn’t scared of them."

In
case you were wondering, BAD BRAINS is based on the short film DEGENERAZIONE
and inspired by the story "Just Before Delirium" by Enrico
Saletti. "BAD BRAINS is a brutal look at a world that will stay
with you long after it’s over," Zuccon says.
Written
by Ivo Gazzarrini and Zuccon and produced by Emanuele Cerquiglini
for Timeline srl and Studio Interzona, BAD BRAINS will star Euro actors
Chiara (DEMONIUM) Pavoni, Valeria Sannino, Mateo Tosi, Kristina Cepraga
and Walter D’Errico, as well as Zuccon’s UNKNOWN BEYOND/SHUNNED
HOUSE performing stable: Liliana Letterese, Roberta Marrelli, Emanuele
Cerman and Cristiana Vaccaro.
Zuccon
promises to take a schizophrenic approach with his direction on the
new film, which will be lensed on digital stock and transferred to
35mm. "I’m planning to shoot this movie with two different
styles," he says: "The love story with the classic ‘decoupage’
and conventional cinematographic style, but for the violent scenes
I plan to use a new and unconventional approach, with a new use of
the cinematic grammar."
He
also warns fans not to expect a typical gore flick. "BAD BRAINS
is not a simple horror," Zuccon says. "It is an intense
family drama, a very strong love story, with a lot of blood, but it
is not a splatter movie. It’s an ambitious project. My lead actor,
Emanuele Cerman, and I have been talking about this project for three
years, and finally it seems we have found a brave producer who will
