Int.Stairs
- Dark
An endless staircase, going up thousands of steps.
Davide is climbing them, step after step, his breathing is labored.
He’s wears bulky army boots.
He's acting tired. He’s been climbing for so long. The stairs
never seem to end.
His legs are shaky, his steps heavier.
Suddenly he sees something on a step.
He stops and picks it up: it’s a teddy bear It seems to be
missing an eye.
Davide looks at it. He seems quite disturbed by it. Then he resumes

ascension
(holding the teddy bear in his hands).
He climbs and climbs. The stairs never seem to end. He's becoming
disoriented.
The teddy bear is no longer in his hands.
Suddenly he sees something else ahead of him. An old black shoe,
worn and very old fashioned.
Davide bends down to pick it up. Looking annoyed, he turns it
in his hands, then starts climbing again.
Davide is now barefoot.
Cut To
Int. Bedroom - Dawn
Light filters through the barred window.
Alice is awake, soothing Davide.
Davide awakens with a start.
She continues to sooth him, caressing his head, his neck, his ears.
She seems to love his ears. |
