Source: Moviehole Last year Bloody-Disgusting brought you a fantastic Halloween present with the FIRST EVER IMAGES online from Freddy vs Jason, now this year, Moviehole.net has your Halloween present. Clint over at Moviehole has some great connections when it comes to Dimension films, and he's scored some new information on the Hellrasier & Halloween crossover entitled Helloween, unfortunately, it isn't the most exciting news, but its the most accurate truth out there right now and there's something new involved... Moviehole writes, "Seems Dimension still isn't exactly sure that they're going to be doing the Michael vs. Pinhead movie and want the chance to clear it up. We received the following email from a studio contact, who's as close to the production as one could possibly get. "I don't know how many times we are going to have to say this and apologies for all the confusing stories, but the Halloween vs. Hellraiser project is NOT officially on. Any stories you hear to the contrary are false". The match-up is merely one of several ideas the studio are reportedly considering to form the basis of the next Halloween movie apparently, and it's a while off yet." Did you catch this part, "The match-up is merely one of several ideas the studio are reportedly considering"? Looks like the future could hold some surprises! (Thanks to http://www.bloody-disgusting.com/) If you were anything like myself, and a few other toy geeks I know, then you were probably doing the fanboy freak when NECA announced a Deluxe Dr. Channard action figure. The deviant mattress-obsessed doctor of Hellbound: Hellraiser II, as you can see in these pics, gets a beautiful representation here. The company is planning to release the Deluxe set in the Spring of '04 in conjunction with the mysterious Series 3 Hellraiser set that's looming in the future. What I'd really love to know is just how big this Channard figure is. For the moment, I'll just have to take comfort in knowing that a wealth of accessories that only treasurers of pain could enjoy will come included in the set. Collector's can expect an "agony head" and a Channard head with a much more passive look on his face; a Leviathan tentacle that attaches to the agony head only; plug-in palm tentacles; and the Leviathan cube base. It's the stuff of a Hellraiser fan's wet dream, no? The Deluxe Dr. Channard set is going to set you back within the price range of 20 to 25 bones. (Thanks to http://www.creature-corner.com/) Got an e-mail this yesterday from a reader who believes himself to have discovered the Lament Configuration, or at least the prop replica of it that NECA has told us was being worked on since the first line of Hellrasier toys hit shelves. Over on the Previews site it was, though the name of the company was not known. Well, one check over on that sticky site called Bloody Disgusting proved the truth-itude of the box, because they've got the link to NECA's official site with all the details. This is a beautiful thing. Unfortunately, even though it's exact in every detail and made of real solid wood with hand cut brass etchings, it seems the idea they had of actually making it move and work like it does in the film was set aside for now. I don't think many of us are going to complain, though, and even if we do there won't be much time for it...the box is limited to 2500 pieces. There will also be an even more limited one (only 500) sold with a certificate of authenticity and a display case like those seen in Hellbound. Check all the details you'll need on NECA's site here. Given no money, no time and no stars, we challenged the next generation of American filmmakers to come up with a great horror film with only one catch: The movies had to be short--about 60 seconds. If you're in the mood for a good scare, check AMC's "Short Screamers" special at 10:00 PM EST this Halloween. (Friday, October 31st) (Thanks to http://www.clivebarker.com/) Source: The Brownsville Herald Some people act like this wans't already an established fact, well for you who need clarification, Helloween is in fact being worked on. Doug Bradley confirmed this Halloween / Hellraiser crossover to The Brownsville Herald. Seems as if they are still shooting for a Fall 2004 release, which is highly possible if a script is almost complete. Just follow the link for the story. (Thanks to

Take a peek inside for three kick ass images and then follow the link for tons more from Gary. Not only that, Clive Barker might be back to do the script." Although on the poll 55% of the people did not want to see the battle, that's still 45% that do, remember that! 20: A Few New Images to Raise Hell Eclipseall Movies informed bloody-disgusting.com that there are some new images from Hellraiser: Deader and Hellraiser: Hellworld online for your enjoyment. Right now both films are slated for an April 2004 release. Look inside for the images. Images courtesy of a Castle Films, follow the link for more images we've posted in the past. (Thanks to http://www.bloody-disgusting.com/) FANGORIA caught up with writer/director Dave (THE DEAD HATE THE LIVING!) Parker this week on the occasion of the theatrical debut of HOUSE OF THE DEAD, which Parker co-wrote with producer Mark Altman, and chatted with him about his next movie, DIRECTOR'S CUT. Based on the novel by Chas Balun, DIRECTOR'S CUT was adapted by Parker himself and is set to be produced by Stuart Gordon. After being behind the keyboard for a while, Parker is happy to get back behind the camera... ...Recently, Parker talked to Creature-Corner about Dimension's plans to combine the HELLRAISER and HALLOWEEN franchises FREDDY VS. JASON style, a concept he first pitched a few years ago. Dimension, which had been keeping the project under wraps, wasn't too happy about the revelation. "When I started working on this pitch, FREDDY VS. JASON was still in development hell, I think '95 or '96-it was before HALLOWEEN 6 had opened," Parker explains. "I was a big fan of FRANKENSTEIN MEETS THE WOLF MAN and HOUSE OF FRANKENSTEIN and the other monster rallies and was like, 'Oh, God, that would be so much fun in a geeky sort of way.' So I was thinking about what other ones you could do feasibly, and obviously Dimension had Pinhead and Michael Myers. So I started thinking about how it might work and came up with a take that wasn't 100 percent true to both mythologies, but there was something there that definitely worked. "It explained certain things about Michael Myers and why he is what he is," Parker continues, "and that led to opening the doors for Pinhead to come in. My thing was, how come Michael Myers could never die? It's obviously taking some liberties and I'm not saying this is the greatest idea ever or anything like that; I was just trying to come up with a plausible way to get these two guys together to fight. So, why does he all of a sudden go out and kill his sister in HALLOWEEN? He's trick-or-treating in a flashback and he goes up to this one house and at this time, I was really trying to tie it into everything that was put into the HALLOWEEN films. So he goes into the house and sees the guy with the black boots, who gives him the box. He opens it and the Lord of the Dead-Sam Hain-escapes from hell and takes over Michael's body because he doesn't want to be in hell. Now, Sam Hain is who the Shape is, and that's why he can't be killed. "So, the story takes place when people try to destroy the Myers house and they find the box hidden between the walls. Of course, they open it and Pinhead shows up, and it's Halloween and it's the Myers house, so Michael shows up because there are people there and Pinhead recognizes that Michael is Sam Hain because he can feel it-which begins this whole battle in the real world. And of course, the third act takes them all to hell." To sell the idea to Dimension, Parker didn't just come up with a pitch, but used a lot of audiovisual aids as well. "I took footage from HELLRAISER movies and HALLOWEEN movies and cut a trailer," Parker says. "Then I had a computer guy do a final piece, which was the skull pumpkin from HALLOWEEN II moving in and then Pinhead's pins emerge out of it. That was my image to sell it with. I showed this trailer to the guy who was then in charge of development at Dimension. He was like, 'That's really interesting stuff, but we're not ready to do that sort of movie at this time.' So I was like, 'OK, at least I got to show it.' "When FREDDY VS. JASON came out," Parker continues, "after the opening weekend, I had a friend who had met with the new people at Dimension, and just made a call to see if they were interested, because FREDDY VS. JASON just made all this money. They said no-they weren't interested in doing this kind of project. The weekend went by and Monday, my friend heard that they were actually pursuing it now, but they had their own writers. That's when I called Ryan and said, 'Look, let me just plead my case here. I'd done this artwork' and I gave it to Ryan. Dimension's not ripping me off-it's a natural thing. I'm sure it crossed some peoples' minds there before. I re-called and my whole case was, 'Can't you just meet with us?' And that's what went up on Creature Corner, and Dimension supposedly got really upset and said that I would never meet on the project. I guess that's a learning curve of how to or not to pursue something. I don't think it's the greatest idea in the world, but it is an obvious one. I'm not saying I'm the only person who has the right take on this project, but I still have an affinity and a 'like' for those characters and the mythologies and no offense, I think Dimension doesn't care. They think [the franchises are] moneymaking machines, and that's what they care about. They don't care about the mythology of the HELLRAISER series, and that's what made it interesting. Those movies went downhill once they got rid of any involvement with Clive and Pete Atkins. Pete had a sensibility that made those first couple of sequels at least feel like HELLRAISER movies. They don't even feel like HELLRAISER movies now. They feel like JACOB'S LADDER and they're just throwing Pinhead in after the fact. I mean, I think the HELLRAISER comic books found so much more to be mined from this stuff. The fact that Dimension didn't seem to care at all is very disappointing." PINHEAD Contributing Sources: Celluloid-Shockers When we the first to break the news back in August that Dimension was fast-tracking a Myers vs. Pinhead film (just for the record, not entitled Helloween - that was just a proposed title idea created by writer/director Dave Parker), it seems an internet puzzlebox of sorts has been opened unleashing a rumor and false information hell upon the web. All of the unsubstantiated gossip prompted Dimension to hold an "official poll" on the Halloween website requesting the fans to weigh in on the match-up topic. Results, suffice to say, reflected a unenthusiastic response which you can read about HERE. Although, when have the fans truly been able to sway a studio's decision? Myers vs. Pinhead could, at any moment, become an officially greenlit project and according to Pinhead himself, Doug Bradley, the film's going forward full-throttle. Celluloid Shockers caught up to Bradley at a UK-based horror con. The actor (who's played Pinhead since the franchise's inception) not only dropped the aforementioned bit of information regarding status of the project, but he also put in his two cents on how the door between the Halloween and Hellraiser universes could be opened. "Michael Myers is a mass murderer, sexually perverted and a complete maniac - so that's the right mixture [speaks in Pinhead's voice] for Pinhead to sow his seeds of torment." Honestly, though, history has shown that what an actor says about a film sometimes doesn't gel with what's really going on behind the doors of a development exec's office. From what the Corner's heard, Dimension is still on the fence about carrying out the project. (Thanks to http://www.creature-corner.com/) October 18: TODD'S TORTURE CONTINUES Contributing Sources: "Markus" Now that McFarlane Toys is not longer participating in the annual International Toy Fair, it's up to us to scour and find out when his new stuff will be coming out, and one reader took it up on themselves to do just such scouring on the McFarlane message boards recently. If you head on over to our boards (here, to be specific), David Toy just posted a message with info from the McFarlane boards about the next Tortured Souls line. What, you though they were done? Here's the words from that board... "Yes, there are plans to release a third line of Tortured Souls figures. Will it be more like TS1 or TS2? I would say more similar to 1, but not necessarily identical to 1, if that makes sense (which it probably doesn't). What I mean by that is: Tortured Souls 3 is shaping up to have more of the creepy-spooky feel of the first series as opposed to the gross-out nature of the second. At least that is how it is looking at this point. However, things could change one way or another or even head off in a totally different direction by the time all is said and done." The thread on McFarlane's site is here, if'n you want to check it out. I'm not sure which I like more, the first or second line, but I have to admit the second was a lot more freaky and just overall nasty. A combination of the first two would be great, but when you're working with a highly creative mind like the one that resides in Clive Barker's skull, who knows what the hell you'll end up with? (Thanks to http://www.creature-corner.com/) From Creature-corner.com: There's a phrase coined by some wise-ass that refers to once respectable television shows that have gone beyond the absurd with a simple plot twist thus forecasting the bleak decline of the show's future. Jumping the shark, as they say. I wonder if that term can be used for careers, because - as much as I love Clive - I think his career has jumped the shark. Variety reports that Clive Barker and The Dead Zone's scribe Ted Tannenbaum are developing an NBC show called Demonologist inspired by a pair of real-life lovebirds who fight demons. Alright, I've just got to let you read the synopsis as printed within Variety's pages... "'Demonologist,' revolves
around a married couple who fight demons -- but are more scared of
their 15-year-old daughter." (Thanks to http://www.creature-corner.com/) Source: Celluloid Shockers Just like I said, just because 55% of the people who voted over at Halloween.com don't want to see Helloween (the match-up between Pinhead and Michael Myers) doesn't mean that it won't happen. There is still 45% who do want to see this gruesome match-up, and who knows how many people will change their mind once it's made? Read on for some words from Doug Bradley on the project. Celluloid Shockers writes, "We recently got back from Collectormania in the UK where we ran in to our buddy 'The Boogieboy' who recently chatted with Doug (Pinhead) Bradley. During their conversation the subject of 'Michael Myers Vs Pinhead' was discussed. This is what the Boogie Boy told us: "I had a chat with Doug about Michael vs Pinhead he told me "it is 100% in the works" He also asked me what I thought about it I said "do it right, Freddy vs Jason had a good meaning for them the match up" He said "Michael Myers is a mass murderer, sexually perverted and a complete maniac so thats the right mixture (in pinheads voice) for pinhead to sow his seeds of torment." Take this for what it's worth, from my sources, they have been planning Helloween since 1995! Obviously they could have some ideas which could work, too bad that wasn't the poll, "if this is how Pinhead and Myers collide, would you see it?" (Thanks to http://www.bloody-disgusting.com/)
