(Thanks to http://www.creature-corner.com/) Bloody-disgusting.com writes, Finally someone has taken the time to make this possible! Just hitting stores now is "Tomart's Price Guide to Horror Collectibles," but the question is, should you spend $29.95 on this 160 page beast? Inside is my HIGHLY positive review for the magazine, which is in full color and has a foreword by Rob Zombie and intro by Todd McFarlane... ...Tomarts Horror Price Guide is not only a tool for finding out the value of your horror collectibles, but its memories bound together in 160 pages. There is everything from the first Childs' Play poster, to the early crap NECA released with those Beetlejuice figures. There are Mego figures from 1974; there are Toxic Crusaders figures, all the old school Ghostbusters figures and even horror related comics! Picture after glorious picture makes me want to hop on Ebay and start spending all my hard earned cash. To top it off, they even have a fantastic intro, which details the history of horror, along with details on how to get things signed and what a "garage kit" is. In my opinion, 29.95 is a steal for this book that shows you how incredible the history of horror is. Order it by clicking here and find out for yourself. Here's what Tomart writes about their magazine, "Tomart.com is now shipping orders for Tomart's Price Guide to HORROR Movie Collectibles. To celebrate, Rob Zombie has contributed an autographed skull from the set of House of a 1000 Corpses for Tomart to give away. Everyone who orders the book on-line will receive an extra chance to win this unique collectible. (Check out AFD #115 for details on entering the contest without purchase.) Tomart's Price Guide to Horror Movie Collectibles is 160 pages of full (blood-dripping) color that covers the merchandising of most every major studio (and low budget) feature horror film. From classic Universal Monsters like Frankenstein, Creature from the Black Lagoon and Dracula to the modern horror legends from Halloween, A Nightmare on Elm St. and A Texas Chainsaw Massacre. No film has been passed by as we take a look at even of the most obscure action figure, comic book, trading card, model kit and video game releases from such films as Mars Attacks!, Re-Animator, Addams Family, Sleepy Hollow, Blood Feast, Toxic Avenger, Child's Play, Evil Dead, House of the Dead, Resident Evil, Scream, Attack of the Killer Tomatoes, The Thing, Vampire Hunter D, Return of the Living Dead, Blade, Hellraiser, Tales from the Crypt, Fright Night, King Kong, Underworld, The Blair Witch Project, The Munsters, Beetlejuice, Scream, Subspecies, Interview with a Vampire and Puppet Master. Also included is a special forward written by House of 1,000 Corpses director, Rob Zombie! Order Today!" (Thanks to http://www.bloody-disgusting.com/)
Over the course of seven Hellraiser films, with two more on the way, the cenobite has seen all manners of evolution. From S&M angels of destruction (Hellraiser, Hellraiser: Hellbound) to the merging of flesh and household electronics (see CD head from Hellraiser III: Hell on Earth), it's safe to say the men behind the make-up on these films have a rockin' good time coming up with new ways to contort our bodily construct. FX fella Gary J. Tunnicliffe is having his fair share of fun pulling make-up duties on the next two Hellraiser installments Deader and Hellworld. While fans await the release of Deader (which is unknown at this time), Tunnicliffe has given the web a brief look at a cenobite (click here) that you won't be seeing in Hellworld. This new design must've been inspired by the "hell of the splitting headaches." (Ouch.) The following is an explanation Tunnicliffe provided for this cenobite's banishment... "We did a design for something for the Hellworld that would have been nice to realise...four legged on mechanical stilts grafted into the flesh at the elbows and knees...standing about 9 feet tall...intravenous bags of piss and blood and shit carried on the legs feeding from the body. Then the face and body was peppered with four large spikes (one through the head, three through the body). We did kind of a walking version for Hellworld...but it got cut out...the director thought it was too big." Hellworld, according to the all-resourceful (yeah, right) IMDB, concerns a group of punks who summon up the cenobites when they access a website called Hellworld.com. Cinematographer-turned-director Rick Bota directs. Buena Vista Home Entertainment (responsible for distributing all of Dimension's titles) have yet to announce a 2004 release date for the film. But movie or no movie, somewhere NECA's Randy Falk is eyeing this photo and thinking, that'd make one helluva toy! (Thanks to http://www.creature-corner.com/) HELLRAISER series star Doug Bradley has a new double-feature DVD available at his official website. The disc contains a pair of short horror films by writer/director Frazer Lee: ON EDGE, featuring FX by Bob Keen (another HELLRAISER veteran) and the winner of the Best Short Film award at Halloween Filmfest 2001, and RED LINES, about a school detention gone horribly wrong. Both movies are presented in widescreen with Dolby 2.0 audio, each accompanied by a Bradley interview (one an exclusive shot on the set of RED LINES), plus bloopers and outtakes. The NTSC region-free disc is $20 plus shipping for U.S. customers, £13 plus shipping for British orders. (Thanks to http://www.fangoria.com/) The Calling writes in that according to a scooper over at the The Hellbound Web Forums, there is a Cenobite in Hellworld that has been cut from the movie! Whether or not this is true is yet to be determined, but take a look inside for an image of the badass cenobite! Scarecrow writes, "It's a Cenobite named "Spike" that was apparently cut from Hellworld for being too "big,"" he continues, "It also sounds from what he says its based on the original Stilt idea that was abandoned." Tunnicliffe, he exlains how he would love to do a Candyman 4, "Haven't heard anything...but given the chance to slide that big old rusty hook onto my good friend Mr Todd's bear like hand, gut a few innocent victims along the way and dodge a couple of thousand bee's...I'd be there in a heartbeat!" (Thanks to http://www.bloody-disgusting.com/) ...Regarding Barker/Carpenters HELLRAISER/HALLOWEEN Film!! Hi, everyone. "Moriarty" here with some Rumblings From The Lab... Ive gotten several recent reports quoting Doug Bradley as saying there is a HALLOWEEN/HELLRAISER film coming next year, and he will be playing Pinhead in it once again. Its not true. And it is true. Or was, anyway. Allow me to explain. FREDDY VS. JASON opened, and shock waves raced through any studio that had two franchises to rub together. Finally kickstarted ALIEN VS. PREDATOR over at Fox. There are persistent rumors that New Line wants to throw Ash into the mix next time out. And, yes, at Dimension, it got some of the execs excited about seeing Michael Myers onscreen with Pinhead. Got a heck of a lot further than just talks, too. The details youve been hearing were right. Clive Barker was going to write it, and John Carpenter was going to direct it. Think about that... yes, both series have endured a lot of shitty sequels over the years, but not under the guidance of their respective creators. John Carpenter directing Pinhead? Clive Barker writing Michael Myers? These are intriguing possibilities. And now, thanks to one particular rights holder whose name might rhyme with Blustafa Akaad, it wont happen. This just went from development deal to missed opportunity in one fell swoop. Its a very, very recent development, too. It just hit the wall. I had to track this down through one of my best East Coast sources, someone close enough to the Weinsteins to smell em. It took a while, but I consider this one confirmed. Its finished, not gonna happen, over and done. So if you see Doug Bradley, and he tells you how cool this movies going to be, do me a favor... someone break it to him gently, okay?
