The last time Barker was behind the directors chair for a feature film was back in 1995 with Lord of Illusions. The story centers on a man who decides he wants to be rid of his wife in favor of a more interesting life. The man "exchanges" his wife for a demon goddess from another world, throwing her into a shadowy world of monsters - one from which she must escape and return to his everyday world to rescue their child and vanquish the demon. Clive had the agreement papers, was ready to put pen to paper and then got a call from Bob Weinstein (Which is rare) and told Clive that they no longer wanted to do it. Now if you can imagine the two egos of Weinstein and Barker clashing with fury... you can get the idea of how that conversation ended. Now Barker is pissed off, Doug is pissed off and John Carpenter is pissed off that Mustapha Akkad has changed his mind on the project. So there you go.
