OVERVIEW
"Enter
the Dagon" is a short film parody currently
in production. It is being created with the intention
of submitting it to the H.P.
Lovecraft Film Festival in Portland, Oregon.
The theme behind the film short is the struggle
between literary purists and movie makers. On
one hand you have fans of author H.P. Lovecraft
who have the expectation of seeing faithful film
adaptions, even if that is frequently impossible.
On the other hand, you have film makers trying
to appeal to a wider audience and make money...sometimes
pimping and maiming the original source material
into a shameful display. At the root of it all
you have the author himself, who hated the medium
of film. He claimed he never wanted his stories
turned into film. So what happens? They make what
has to be over a hundred movies based upon or
inspired by his work....and even have a film festival
in his honor. That is irony. If he were alive
today, would he be thrilled by his posthumous
fame....or horrified by a reanimated decapitated
head attempting forced cunnilingus on a blonde
in bondage in a film based on his work (Herbert
West: Reanimator)? My guess is that it
might be a bit of both.
Our film deals with a serious fan's attempt at
a faithful film adaption of a cherished horror
tale, and the corrupted form it takes as it goes
through the Hollywood process.

My apologies to Stuart Gordon,
-Tom
Gleason, Director

|
|
Tom
Gleason
Tom is the producer/director of Enter the Dagon.
This is his first time at the helm. He spends his spare
time hanging at www.diabolical-dominion.com
and watching old Kolchak: The Night Stalker
episodes. Tom cries like a baby whenever he watches Charlotte's
Web.

|
Scott
"Jerry"
Lawrence
Scott is the director of cinematography and editor. He has
previously co-directed the films "Inva$ion"
and "Impact!". Both films are able to be
downloaded from his web site www.cis.rit.edu/~jerry/Movie.
He also likes cheese.

|
Curt
Markham
Curt plays the role Crispin Eldritch. Which is only fitting
since he also wrote the script. Curt has written and directed
a number of other independant films including "Fear
Face 92" and "Looking Backward".
His film site is www.syntarsus.com.
Curt says that Doctor Who is the Shiznit, and we
believe him.

|
|
John
Karyus
John plays the part of Dexter Burt Ward. He also contributed
a lot during pre-production. John has worked on number of
movies, including "Filthy McNasty". You
can also see him in the upcoming horror film "Kottentail"
(http://www.crazyralph.com/kottenpage.html off-line).
We all secretly hate John because he has an IMDB listing
and we don't.

|
Jesse
Edmund
Jesse plays Stuart Corman in Enter the Dagon. Jesse
is a stand up comedian and actor who has appeared in commercials
and a couple of Mexican wrestling movies as "El
Seudónimo". Much like David Hasslehoff,
he is a legend everywhere but where he lives.
|
|
|
Kevin
Serwacki
Kevin plays the role of Herbert East. He is also an artist
and is trying to get a children's book published. Don't
play with a yo-yo, naked, while there is a cat in the house.
That has nothing to do with Kevin, but it's good advice
anyhow.

|
Thary
Kok
Thary plays a few roles in the film, including the role
of Kim Wang Seng. She is a model and actress. She can be
seen in films by Low Budget Pictures like "Bloody
Giblets". LBP's Web site: http://www.angelfire.com/indie/lowbudgetpictures/
(off-line)

Gil
Merritt
Gil plays the psychotic Jimbo Johnson Lee in Enter the
Dagon. He also has created the world's goriest board
game "Amputheatre" (http://www.amputheatre.com/).
