The Evil Dead (Book Of The Dead)

“The Ultimate Experience in Grueling Terror”
~ ~ ~ ~ ~

The Evil Dead is a fright-ride that is much like a roller coaster. Directed by Sam Raimi (Spider-Man, Army of Darkness, Darkman) and starring Bruce Campbell (Army of Darkness, “Hercules: Legendary Journeys”, “Adventures of Brisco County, Jr.”), Hal Delrich, Sarah York, Ellen Sandweiss, and Betsy Baker, The Evil Dead makes the terror lift the hairs on your arms then settles down to gain momentum for another terror-attack. The movie was filmed on a very low budget of $90,000 and shot on location in Morristown, Tennessee for the first twelve weeks of shooting. The plot centers around an old cabin in the woods that five college students are renting for the weekend…what they don’t know is that there is something evil lurking in the woods. This movie is fun to watch, even if it doesn’t scare you, it is full of interesting camera angles and multi-colored blood and bile. A cheap B-movie, maybe, but The Evil Dead still remains an all time favorite to many.
Also recommended is the commentary on the DVD.
