"Through a Lens Darkly" is inspired by the writings of Lovecraft - in the sense that I am most concerned with attempting to visually approximate the ambiance of several of his tales: specifically those dealing with a city dwelling protagonist whose physical venture into the countryside coincides with a metaphysical descent into psychic unease, and eventually fully-fledged cosmic terror. The final, terrible revelation is of course experienced when the protagonist catches a glimpse of what really dwells just below the festering surface of rural decline...
