January 26: "No Budget" Video/Film Festival call for entries Call for entries: "INTERNATIONAL NO-BUDGET VIDEO/FILMFESTIVAL", Vienna, July 04 Please visit www.ohnekohle.at.tf With the theme "NO BUDGET" a variety of the starving Video/Filmscene shall be presented. "NO BUDGET" is present in all patterns of cultural activities. The theme also includes the offensive struggle to be creative, without waiting for no longer-working structures of film-subsidiaries. The medium video shall be understood not only as an alternative to the long tradition of celluloid, but also in it´s unique aesthetics. "Film- and Videolook" will be concerned in the programming. The festival is supposed to offer a stage for all productions and producers who are unable to find broad resonance due to the economic situation of the cultural landscape. It aims at highlighting innovative ways and means that enable producers to nonetheless create amazing works. It intends to stimulate the exchange of these innovative solutions before, during and after the festival. What is more, it ought not to be a festival where only a few works are exhibited and admired, but future works be propelled and prepared. Besides the regular festival schedule there will ample opportunity to discuss future projects with colleagues and experts and to gather information and advice. www.ohnekohle.at.tf for entry forms and regulations Regulations for participation: 1 open short film competition (all genres) short movies up to 15 minutes are preferred! Commercial productions, commissioned works and productions on contractual order are excluded. The displayed works must not have received substantial public subsidies. (Lend of equipment and compensation for material costs are not considered as subsidies - salaries for technicians and writers, however, are.) Main criteria in the evaluation of the film is not mainly the film as such, but rather the relation between the circumstances of production and the final result, i.e. the innovation and creativity of the producers enabling them to make a film with "No Budget". 2 Documentary Movies "No Budget" (no restrictions in length) Commercial productions, commissioned works and productions on contractual order are excluded. The displayed works must not have received substantial public subsidies. (Lend of equipment and compensation for material costs are not considered as subsidies - salaries for technicians and writers, however, are.) Main criteria in the evaluation of the film is not mainly the film as such, but rather the relation between the circumstances of production and the final result, i.e. the innovation and creativity of the producers enabling them to make a film with "No Budget". Additionally, choice of subject and quality of investigation are also criteria of evaluation. 3 Special Theme "POVERTY": all genres, documentaries preferred This is a special category for works dealing with the subject of poverty und its effects on society open also to commercial and subsidized movies. Main criteria for evaluation is the handling of and reflection on the subject. 4 extreme sports "no budget but
balls" Like categories 1 and 2: Commercial productions, commissioned
works and productions on contractual order are excluded. The displayed
works must not have received substantial public subsidies. (Lend of
equipment and compensation for material costs are not considered as
subsidies - salaries for technicians and writers, however, are.) Main
criteria is the athletic performance. Still this does not mean that
extremely risky stunts are evaluated higher since an accomplished
cinematographic realization under consideration of the simplicity
