November 1: Shadow Over Innsmouth update

Screenwriter Rob Hinderstein has informed me that he is finishing the final rewrite on the Shadow Over Innsmouth script. This is the same project that has garnered interest from actor Nicholas Cage (a die hard Lovecraft fan)...

More information to come.

(Thanks to Rob Hinderstein)

August 4: The Shadow Over Innsmouth moving forward!

I've just received word that the "The Shadow Over Innsmouth" adaptation so brilliantly hinted at by the HarlowFx website [click here] is moving forward!

Rob Hinderstein sent along some really great information regarding the upcoming film.

The rights to The Shadow Over Innsmouth have been acquired by Hindsight Partners LLC and Rob Hinderstein has scripted a big-budget film adaptation from the material.

The script is a present day adaptation that follows closely the story lore and history. The story takes place eighty years later and progresses from the end point of where the novella ends. It is a logical transition from the story and follows three different characters all searching for the same thing. The primary character, like the novella, is a direct descendent of Obed Marsh. There has been new and exciting material added to this adaptation to create a very scary thriller.

When I asked about the rumor that Nicholas Cage is interested in the film, Rob had the following to say:

~As per the rumor of Nicholas Cage being involved, yes that is true. Cage is a die hard Lovecraft fan and while working on Adaptation, Joel Harlow mentioned the script and Cage wanted first look. Saturn Films (Cage's Comp.) is currently in possession of the project.~

Physical and CGI effects will be handled by Conceptual Design & Development. Joel Harlow (HarlowFx) is the key makeup designer for the project. His designs [see again, the HarlowFx site] and input were instrumental from the project's inception.

A web site is in the works and will be dedicated to the project with photos, current development info, script pages, etc.

If you have any questions or would like to learn more, you can email Jered Stark (coordinating producer) here. He will be available at that email address after August 5th.

More as it becomes available!

(Special thanks to Rob Hinderstein)
