Dread
Central reports that Dynamite Entertainment is launching
its Army of Darkness comic into a monthly series,
and theyll start with Army of Darkness vs.
Re-Animator!
The
series was written by James Kuhoric with art by
Sanford Greene and Scott Kester, and according to
Dynamite, "Ash is committed to Arkham Asylum.
Its here that he runs afoul of a rather ghoulish
and creepy Herbert West... and the battle of the
century begins!"
[Herbert
West] "...discovers a serum that can be injected
into the brain of the recently deceased that brings
them back to life. But these revived people are
no longer our friends, relatives or loved ones.
They're adrenaline-driven zombies! Even more unfortunate
is the fact that West runs into Ash, The Chosen
One, who has a well-earned disdain for the undead!"
The first issue will feature four different covers
shipping in approximately equal increments, by Sanford
Greene, Nick Bradshaw, J.G. Jones, and Gabrielle
Dell'Otto,
|
| as
well as a "Super-Rare" 1-25 cover by Bradshaw... |

April 19: Out of Mind DVD available now!
For
immediate release:
Lurker
Films Announces the H.P. Lovecraft Collection Volume 3:
Out of Mind on DVD
Acclaimed
by Lovecraft fans worldwide, this Bravo!Canada television
show starring Christopher Heyerdahl (Blade: Trinity,
The Chronicles of Riddick & "Kingdom
Hospital") is available now for the first time
on DVD and includes many extras.
PORTLAND,
OR (PRWEB) April 15, 2005 -- Lurker Films, Inc. the world's
leading producer and distributor of Lovecraft related
film products announced the immediate availability of
"The H.P. Lovecraft Collection Volume 3: Out
of Mind" on DVD, available from merchants throughout
the United States.
"Out
of Mind" casts an entertaining eye on the work
of American writer H.P. Lovecraft (1890-1937), one of
the early 20th century's masters of gothic-horror literature.
The film offers an encounter with Lovecraft and enters
into his world. Engaging in a kind of game around the
writer, the film playfully winks at many of the themes
characteristic of his work: the occult, cursed books,
monstrous creatures, and the world of dreams. Out of Mind
draws its inspiration from Lovecraft's actual personal
correspondence and many of his stories, carrying the viewer
through a labyrinth "beyond the wall of sleep."
The
H.P. Lovecraft Collection Volume 3: Out of Mind
DVD includes:
"Out of Mind: The Stories of H. P. Lovecraft"
television feature film
Two audio commentary tracks by writer/director
Raymond Saint-Jean, actor Christopher Heyerdahl, and cinematographer
Serge Ladouceur.
John Strysik's award winning student short film
"The Music of Erich Zann" with both Dolby
2.0 and 5.1 audio options.
Aaron Vaneks student short films "The
Outsider" and "My Necronomicon".
Interviews with the crew of "The Music
of Erich Zann"
The third part of the continuing interview with
the foremost Lovecraft scholar in the world, S. T. Joshi.
Bonus trailers of upcoming films including "Call
of Cthulhu"
The
H.P. Lovecraft Collection Volume 3: Out of Mind
DVD will be available through retail at a suggested price
of US$21.95. The DVD is not rated but a rating of PG-13
is suggested. Total running time of the DVD is over 120
minutes.
"It
is fitting that this DVD was mastered on March 15th, the
anniversary of Lovecrafts death," said
producer Andrew Migliore, "and occurs in the wake
of the Library of Americas newly released volume
of Lovecraft short stories proving that Lovecrafts
writings have literary merit and is worth preserving."

7: Stern Fathers and Enter the Dagon news!
Tom Gleason provided the following
update on the various projects Spinning Grave currently
have underway...
~
Enter the Dagon is creeping closer to it's official
DVD being complete. Recently Rob Reay completed editing
on the film short "The Pitch", directed
by Jesse Edmond, that will be on the final disc.
I
am currently viewing raw footage taken for the Lovecraft
documentary "Stern Fathers Neath the Mould"
and working on the narrative script...
...Once
the script is complete, it's mainly voice-over recordings
and editing to complete the project.
Curt
Markham has recently taken up the directing reigns for
completing the "Disposable" music video...
...He's
going to shoot stuff to fill in the gaps where footage
of the band was meant to be...including some possible
animation of the band itself.
Recently
Enter the Dagon's very own Herbert East, Kevin
Serwacki, became a published author. His children's book
"Doorknob the Rabbit and the Carnival of Bugs"
is currently available in book stores such as Barnes &
Noble, and is also available for purchase on-line. You
can see art from the book at Kevin's web site: http://www.serwacki.com
You
can also see pictures of Herbert...er...Kevin at his recent
book signing. Sadly, there is no kung fu or deep ones
featured in the photos.

gallery can be seen here.

April 3: The Other Gods are
coming!
 |
Source:
theothergods
~
A prophet who longs to look upon his deities. A
daunting journey to a mountain peak. A confrontation
with gods too powerful to name.
This
is the story that inspired Peter Rhodes, who worked
as a filmmaker and artist during the 1920s. Few
people know of his work, and it's only through luck
and perseverance that we have been able to track
down the elements for this "lost" film.
"The Other Gods" is currently undergoing
restoration and will be ready for public screening
in the coming year.
Rhodes'
films were created using silhouette animation, a
technique perfectly suited to depict Lovecraft's
mythic Dreamland stories. The filmmaker's involvement
in New York City's occult and literary scenes provided
him with a select audience for his work. Rhodes
was especially influenced through his relationships
with occultist Aleister Crowley and writer H.P.
Lovecraft, but it was personal tragedy that moved
him to produce "The Other Gods,"
his most powerful film... ~
|
Visit the official
website for a look at Peter Rhodes Biography,
a Rhodes and Lovecraft Timeline and what is being
done to restore this lost film...
You
may want to stop by the forum
for more information regarding this production (please
note: contains spoilers).
