20: Closet Space needs extras!
For
Immediate Release:
Our
final Closet Space shooting day is
also our "biggest" scene - we are
shooting inside a college classroom and need
a few "students" to populate the
class and campus. Unfortunately, there's no
pay, but you get screen credit in a f-ed up
horror movie with tentacles.
If
you are interested, and you live in the Houston/Galveston
area, here are the details:
We
are shooting on this Thursday, August 24th
at College of the Mainland in Texas City.
Take 45 South to the Texas City exit - FM
1764 (I think this is exit 16). Exit Amburn
Rd. You'll see COM on the right.
Look
for us in T-055 in the Technical Vocation
Building.
The
shoot will last from 9 AM - 4 PM. Everyone
needs to be there promptly at 9 AM and must
be prepared to stay the entire time.
Any
questions, email me via MySpace.
If you want to be an "extra", look
like a college student. Bring book bags, notepads,
notebooks, etc. No logos on clothes, please...

14: Del Toro on Madness...
Source:
latinoreview.com
Here
are some bits and pieces from a recent Guillermo
del Toro interview...
"I was on track to try and do 'Mountains
of Madness.' We were having difficulty
adjusting the scope of the movie because it's
a very broad world that [H.P.] Lovecraft describes.
It's a very big palette. We were having problems
sort of syncing with a budget that would make
it work for the studio..."
"I hope I can find a way to make it
on the scope that the story needs...hopefully,
'Mountains' will find enough money
or a way to adjust the size of it, but it's
a big epic... I wish that I could find the
budget for the 'Mountains of Madness'
next, but that doesn't depend on me."
"It's like the conceptual art for
Mountains of Madness, which are fantastic..."

According
to director Albert Pyun (Cyborg,
The Sword and the Sorcerer),
his feature length adaptation of Cool
Air is moving into the final cut and
visual effects work will begin in a
few weeks!
Albert
tells Unfilmable.com,
"I think the film's an unusual
take on the Lovecraft short story as
I've tried to create a movie that places
the viewer deep into the mind of the
protagonist. A movie that exists in
the viewer's subconscious...a movie
that's felt and experienced more.
I've
tried to capture the feeling of dread
and madness so the viewer truly
|
| experiences
a waking nightmare--for me the essence
of what I loved about Lovecraft's story
and his words. It's a very unconventional
film that plays with time and space in
ways only digital technology allows." |

3: News from The Juggernaut
Here's the latest from
BiFF JUGGERNAUT Productions...
Its
been a busy last couple of weeks. Our world
premiere for "LovecraCked! The
Movie" at The Pioneer Theater in
NYC went very well with a strong turnout,
and better yet folks seemed to really enjoy
the film! For pics from the event click here.
We
had a follow up screening in Dallas on July
29th hosted by the good folks of Bar of Soap
and friend and "LovecraCked! The
Movie" co-collaborator Justin Powers.
I wasn't able to make it out to that one,
but it was apparently a full house with some
folks driving as far as 80 miles just to get
to the show! From what I hear, the film went
over very well with the crowd and Justin's
already working on putting together another
show in nearby Arkansas, more details on that
upcoming show and others soon!
In
other news, our first limited run of DVDs
for LovecraCked! The Movie are
now in production and will be in stock within
the next 2-3 weeks or sooner. Reservations
for the DVD can now be made at The
BiFF Shop. The disc will include about
1.5 hrs of extras and there may even be an
easter egg hidden in there somewhere. Look
for other cool new BiFF gear at the shop as
well, such as official "LovecraCked!
The Movie" T-Shirts, posters and
other fun stuff.
'Til
