13: Are you ready for Spook Wars?
Writer/director
Rob Sibley informed me recently that his feature
film based on and around Lovecraft's "The
Nameless City" is no more. Funding on the
project fell through, and it has been put on the
back burner for now...
Rob
hasn't let this obstacle stop him though as he has
already begun production on his next Lovecraft inspired
project, Spook Wars! Loosely based on "The
Call of Cthulhu", the film will be shot
over a six month period starting in the summer of
2006. Look for a more detailed look at the production
in the next week or so...

7: Peter Jackson's Madness?
Ain't
It Cool News reports that Peter Jackson and Universal
are in talks with Guillermo Del Toro about directing
the video game adaptation of HALO (which
Jackson will produce). This is only of note because
(as AICN mentions), "Guillermo hooking up
with Weta (effects work on Lord of the Rings, King
Kong) and Peter Jackson is a very very good thing,
and could be the start of a relationship that could
eventually pay Lovecraft dividends with IN THE MOUNTAINS
OF MADNESS (should read: At the Mountains of Madness)
that must must must be made with WETA! So for now,
consider this a confirmed rumor that Guillermo is
at the very least in serious talks, that are very
very close to being finalized. I guess I should
find out what HALO is."
