30: Brain Damage's "The Shunned House"! Yesterday I purchased a lot of 5 Indy horror movies/films on eBay. One of the films included in this lot was SHADOWS IN FOG, which is described as (Lovecraft inspired, 13 minutes). No other information is given. If anyone has heard of this (or has any information about it), I would be interested in hearing it. Is it really based on Lovecraft? If so, what story? When was it originally released, and by whom? I should receive the film within a week or so, and will do a write-up of it when I do. Information can be sent to me here! May 29: The Unnamable update Sascha Renninger sent along this "Unnamable" update! ~I just finished editing the second cut of the movie. But we still have to shoot some more footage. Soon there will be a second trailer featured on the website.~ Keep an eye on the official website here. (Thanks to Sascha Renninger) May 29: Nocturna: Inspired by Lovecraft? Click here to read about a new Filmax (Dagon) project called "Nocturna". As pointed out by shonokin (on the alt.horror.cthulhu group), it sounds reminiscent of Lovecraft's Dreamlands stories. (Thanks to shonokin) May 28: Purchase "The Shunned House" from xploitedcinema.com! ~update~ Here's another online store where you can purchase "The Shunned House" on DVD. Click here for details. Note: This DVD is a Region
0 PAL DVD. (Thanks to Ivan Zuccon) May 27: La-La Land preps CREEPSHOW CD release FANGORIA caught up with La-La Land Records president Michael Gerhard this past weekend at Fangoria's Weekend of Horrors in Burbank, where La-La Land was debuting its brand new disc of Richard Band's FROM BEYOND score. Gerhard filled us in on the next big horror release from La-La Land hitting next monththe score to CREEPSHOW, composed by John Harrison. "CREEPSHOW will be out in late June and will feature the original LP tracks, as well as music from the TALES FROM THE DARKSIDE TV show," Gerhard enthused. "It's a single disc and as an added bonus, on it will be an unproduced George Romero/John Harrison film scorebased upon the opera TALES OF HOFFMAN. John Harrison recorded an eight-and-a-half-minute overture of the theme for the movie to help sell it. It was supposed to be done after DAY OF THE DEAD, but financing fell through. We're going to have exclusive liner notes regarding the preproduction on the movie as well as notes from Romero, possibly Stephen King and Harrison." The CREEPSHOW disc will hit on June 17th as a limited edition. If you pre-order the disc from their website early (found here), you can get a copy of the disc autographed by Harrison himself. In similarly horrific news, Gerhard told Fango that despite his company having issued such horror releases as Richard Band's RE-ANIMATOR, Elia Cmiral's THEY and Christopher Lennertz's SAINT SINNER scores, Jeff Danna's Celtic music for the never-released-Stateside Minnie Driver weeper UNCORKED is still La-La Land's top-selling release. We blame Rufus Sewell's huge on-line fanbase. (Thanks to http://www.fangoria.com/) May 27: Purchase "The Shunned House" on Region 2 DVD Want to purchase "The Shunned House" before it's US release? Diabolikdvd.com has Region 2 DVD's for sale! Click here for details. Note: This DVD is PAL Region 2. (Thanks to http://www.diabolikdvd.com/) May 27: Details on 'Alien's' Re-release in Theaters Ridley Scott's very Lovecraftian film, "Alien", will be rereleased in theaters this Halloween. According to Bloody-Disgusting.com and Film Jerk: ~Film Jerk writes, "The announcement last month that Fox would be rereleasing Ridley Scott's 1979 classic Alien into theaters on Halloween was met with wild enthusiasm by fans of the movie, with the most often asked question being, "Will the film include any restored scenes?" "FilmJerk.com has learned, through contacts within Fox Films, that the film will be getting most, if not all, of the cut footage restored back into the narrative. Final details are still being worked out, but our source tells us the film's soundtrack will also be remastered to take advantage of today's digital cinema sound formats, and will be positioned as a major fall release, to play on over 2,000 screens." "Our source also tells us that, should this rerelease become successful, like the Star Wars trilogy and Exorcist rereleases, tentative plans have already been set to release James Cameron's restored cut of Aliens into theatres next spring."~ (Thanks to http://www.bloody-disgusting.com/) May 27: Anchor Bay Chat Highlights EVIL DEAD... Well first of all they aren't releasing WITHIN THE WOODS (in reference to the UK Box Set), that is definitely not going to happen. And unfortunately while they are able to release a box set there, we can't do the same here. Not that we really need to release another EVIL DEAD DVD at this point... (thanks to Brad Vautrinot) (Thanks to http://www.gorezone.net/) May 26: "Unknown Beyond" Region 1 DVD cover! Steve Lustgarten sent

of goodies I can think of to pass around. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- The Dream-Quest of
Unknown Kadath movie website May 26: Dagomon No Yobigoe Randolph Carter sends along this interesting piece of information about a Lovecraftian episode of "Digimon". ~The thirteenth episode of the Japanese anime series Digimon Adventure 02 was rather Lovecraftian. It was called "Dagomon no Yobigoe" which translates to "The Call of Dagomon." The Cthulhu-like monster Dagomon only appeared briefly at the beginning and ending of the episode, and even then all you saw was a monstrous shadow. I don't know very much about the episode's story, but there is an English version of the episode, which was re-titled "His Master's Voice". Dagomon was renamed "Dragomon" for some strange reason. The most information about the episode I could find came from http://duckfeather.net/digimon/episode67.htm.~ I'll post more information
about this as it becomes available. (Thanks to Randolph Carter) May 26: Photo fun from Fangoria Weekend of Horrors Chud.com has posted a write-up with several photos from the latest Fangoria Weekend of Horrors. The write-up contains the following Lovecraftian info: - Lions Gate will be

I received the following update from Ivan Zuccon today. It updates the current status of his upcoming releases and projects. As mentioned, the new
street date for the "Unknown Beyond" DVD is August
26th. Ivan says the extra features will include an alternate ending,
a deleted scene and the trailer. He went on to mention the following news for his upcoming films, "Spiral" and "The 7th War". ~The script of Spiral finished. I like a lot this work. Is not a true lovecraftian movie, but there are some lovecraft ideas in the plot. We have a little delay, we will shoot it in October/November. Also, we are working with a German producer on the 7th war. We are planning to shoot the movie on super16 or High Definition, and then print the movie to 35mm. The 7th war will be a very expensive movie, for this reason we are searching a co-producer.~ Special thanks to Ivan Zuccon for keeping us up to date on his current slate of projects. May 22: Another Pickman's Model! Rick Tillman (Pickman's Model) sends word that Giovanni Furore (a director from Italy) is working on a adaptation of the same story. Giovanni's version is currently in post-production (as is Rick's). Rick also discovered the poster for a version of Pickman's Model directed by Cathy Welch! More news on both of these films as it becomes available. Special thanks to Rick Tillman for discovering, and informing us about these previously unknown adaptations. 22: New "Unknown Beyond" street date In my endless quest for all things Lovecraftian, I find the following question is asked on many forums, message boards and email groups. "What is the best Lovecraft adaptation?" So I thought I would poll the readers of Unfilmable.com, and compile a list of films. So I ask, what are your favorite Lovecraft feature film adaptations and short film adaptations? Suggest as many (or few) films as you would like. I will then compile a list and take the top five vote recipients from each category. In a week or so I will post the results. Also, the next time I see that question asked on a forum, board or group, I'll have a handy list to post in reply. Send your replies to: pickman@unfilmable.com Thanks in advance for your participation (no names or email addresses will accompany the list). May 21: Complete Fango CA convention schedule! Sascha Renninger sent along this great update with the latest news about the "THE UNNAMABLE" project. ~ "My name is Sascha Renninger and i just wanted to give you the latest news about the "THE UNNAMABLE" project. There once was a video version, shot in german language, that was never finished. That is the version linked on "the haunter of the dark" website. After reworking the script for nearly two years, i decided to do a "bigger" version, more closely based on the original short story. We shot on super 16mm film, the running time will be 15min, we shot with american actors in english language. Though there are still some scenes to be shot, we`re already into postproduction as well. Up to 80% of the planned scenes are shot and the results are quite good. We want to release the film as DVD, with lots of bonus special features and some other horror short films. And of course submit it to the H.P.Lovecraft film festival and other [festivals]. Since the project is financed by myself (sadly, i had a hard time to find investors), it will take some time to finish the film properly. If we raise more money, then there will be a 35mm print, to watch on the big screen..." ~ "THE UNNAMABLE" was written and directed by Sascha Renninger. It is based on a script by Sascha Renninger & Torsten Nowicki (who worked on the former version), and the original short story by H.P. Lovecraft. The production stars Jeff Motherhead as Joel Manton & Robert Lyons as Randolph Carter. It was produced by Sascha's company CHURCH-HILL Filmproduction. A teaser trailer will be available soon from the official website (currently under construction). You can access the website here.
