Arkham-studios.com has also added some progress pics of their Edgar Allan Poe statue (the companion piece to Lovecraft). Check them out here! (Thanks to Bryan Moore) Volume 1 will contain

III) Sci Fi Wire spoke with Bruce Campbell recently, and he had this to say in regards to Freddy vs Jason vs Ash: "Bruce Campbell, who played Ash in the Evil Dead horror films, told SCI FI Wire that there is "some validity" to the rampant rumors about the possibility of a movie that would pit his character against Freddy of A Nightmare on Elm Street and Jason from the Friday the 13th franchise. But Campbell added that nothing is imminent. "As I've been explaining to people, this wouldn't be a movie where you could just make a phone call and go, 'Let's do it,' and then it all happens," Campbell said in an interview. "You've got three franchises." Campbell added, "[That] means you have 17 lawyers, each going, 'Yeah, look at my franchise. Yeah, look at my franchise.' So you have to get past that. Then you have to get past the question of 'how will the characters be treated?' What would you do with Ash? There's no way I'd be in it if I lost. No way. The good guy has to win, especially in that movie. You couldn't kill two whole franchises, but we could sure maim them." He has already been offered such projects as Iron Man and Fantastic Four, but has instead decided on his low-budget ghost story Pan's Labyrinth. del Toro had this to say of Labyrinth's follow-up: "After Pan's Labyrinth, I will jump into my next big film, almost back to back. That project will either be Hellboy 2 or In the Mountains of Madness (note: this should say, At the Mountains of Madness, not In...)." (Thanks to http://www.fangoria.com/) May 7: Erich Zann, what if? What if Brad (Session Nine) Anderson directed a film version of Lovecraft's classic, The Music of Erich Zann? And what if he managed to get Ewan (Big Fish and those Star Wars films...) New monsters will appear in the sequel including everybody's favorite Gill-Man from Creature from the Black Lagoon (the Invisible Man will also make an appearance). Silver Pictures and Orchid Ventures are currently developing a 24 hour a day, 7 day a week horror channel called The Scream Channel (to be launched in the U.S. January of 2005). Dark Castle Entertainment is working on creating new, original content for the channel. Producer Joel Sliver (of both Silver Pictures and DC) says there will be a night dedicated to Dark Castle films. They are currently in talks with two other studios to license their respective libraries of horror films. The UK's The Horror Channel (not to be confused with the US The Horror Channel that is currently in development) has already launched as a free-to-view Sky channel, broadcasting between 6pm and 6am. They eventually want it to be a 24 hr channel... So which one will be the first to do a Lovecraft film night? (Thanks to http://aintitcoolnews.com/) May 5: More Freddy vs Jason 2 rumors? A Dark Horizons scooper (from the Pittsburgh Comic Con) wrote the following: "Kane Hodder was there and says he has expressed interest in appearing in it, and when signing for me, said there's a good chance he'll get to be in it. Thinks they're going to be doing it before the end of the year and latest is it won't feature Ash from Evil Dead, that's one idea that escalated out of control apparently. Ronny Yu is doing it, there is a script. No one has seen it, but I'd be so glad to see the original Jason back where he belongs". Source: Dark Horizons (Thanks to http://www.bloody-disgusting.com/) According to BV Entertainment Inc., they have signed Tony Kandah of Hollywood Wizard LLC as the foreign sales representative for The Halfway House. Lovecraft! Here is part of that interview... Question: Oh I see, so it [Shades of Gray] wont be a horror flick then? "No. But, I am drawn to it because of the emotional intensity and both the physical and emotional violence centered around the characters. Steve [Meg author Steve Alten] is one hell of a writer and this script is one of the best he has ever written -- it is my privilege to produce this for him. On the other hand, he is in the process of writing an updated Pit and the Pendulum. I have also convinced him to research a Lovecraft story to write. I would be involved in either of those". Question: Cool, what's the other Lovecraft story? "Either The Unnamable or At The Mountains of Madness, now that Del Toro has officially given up [note: del Toro has not given up on this project, and is currently turning in a new draft of the script]. Steve would give either of those stories an interesting spin. I've heard that Pit and The Pendulum may be set in 1991 Iraq during the Gulf War". Question: So how would
Pit and the Pendulum work out being set in '91 during "Well, if you've read anything about Saddam Hussein -- it's just about as bad as the Spanish Inquisition. That's really all I know; it's very, very, infant at this point but exciting as hell nonetheless". Click here to read the entire interview! (Thanks to http://www.darkhorizons.com) He went on to say that the shoot went very well, and he will be providing many more images in the weeks to come!
